Katy Perry married Russell Brand in India last year, and as the daughter of two Christian ministers, she says her hubby is respectful when it comes to her religious beliefs.
She said: "Russell has made very blasphemous jokes in the past, but he's making fewer all the time because he knows that I am very sensitive about this subject.”
Katy, 26, also criticized Madonna for staging a mock crucifixion on stage for her ‘Confessions’ world tour in 2006 and admitted she can’t understand why it seems to be acceptable to poke fun at Christianity.
She added: "You can be frivolous and fun without needing to get involved in that. And I don't know why that only happens to the Christian religion. I don't see people simulating sex with statues of Buddha, for example.
"For me, spirituality is something very important and I don't like it when people take it lightly. At times, I don't understand why there are artists who play that card, like when Madonna gets up on a cross to sing."

Leighton Meester and Garrett Hedlund 'Inseparable' at Golden Globes Party
Leighton Meester and Garrett Hedlund starred in Country Strong together, and now there's talk that they've become more than friends and co-stars. Apparently these two were "inseparable the entire night" Sunday at the Golden Globes after party. Hm.
A source tells Us magazine the two were touchy-feely throughout the evening. The insider said: "Garret wrapped his arm around her. She wraps her arm completely around his neck and pulls him for a quick peck on the lips."
Reports also indicate these two left the party together at the end of the night...
Leighton said in a 2010 interview that she's not a fan of dating: "I don't see the point in dating," she said. "I hate it. It's wonderful to be in love. And it's definitely wonderful to cuddle and have sex and get to experience life with somebody. But it's OK if you don’t find him and you're 24. You can find it someday."

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban Nickname Their Daughter 'The Racoon'
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are constantly amused by their inquisitive two-year-old daughter Sunday Rose’s habit of stopping to investigate everything she sees.
She said: “Keith calls her the raccoon because she gets into everything, she will grow out of it, she’s only two and a half.”
Nicole and Keith, both 43, chose the name Sunday Rose for their daughter but the Australian actress doesn’t mind when people use nicknames for her.
Speaking on the Kyle and Jackie O show on Australia’s 2day FM, she said: “We love the abbreviations, we call her Sunday Rose, Sunny and Sunday.”
Nicole has previously revealed she has passed a fascination for exotic animals onto Sunday Rose and the tot loves taking their pet alpacas -- which the family raise on the farm they own in Nashville, Tennessee -- for walks.
She explained: "We have alpacas on our farm because they're so pretty. They have lovely long lashes. I think they're really cool. I always wanted a mix of weird animals but that's the weirdest we have.

Natalie Portman Thanks Fiancé During Golden Globe Win
Natalie Portman is apparently done with being secretive about her pregnancy and her new fiance, Benjamin Millepied. The actress took valuable time out of her Golden Globe acceptance speech Sunday night to draw Millepied into the spotlight as she thanked him.
After thanking both of her parents, and her grandmother Bernice in Cincinatti, she came around to her future husband.
"Thank you to Benjamin for helping me with this creation of creating more life," she said. Portman explained to Black Swan audiences that they might remember him from the film. "He's the guy they ask 'Would you sleep with that girl?' and he says 'No.' He's the best actor it's totally not true, he really wants to sleep with me."
Portman wore a pink Viktor & Rolf gown to the ceremony. It was embellished with red beading in the shape of a rose, and it was the first outfit she's worn in public that shows her growing baby bump.
This was Portman's second Golden Globe win. She won a Best Supporting Actress award in 2005 for her role in Closer.

Paris Hilton: New Reality Series Shows 'the Real Paris'
Paris Hilton has promised that her new reality show The World According to Paris will show her how she really is, unlike the “character” she created to appear with pal Nicole Richie on The Simple Life.
She said: "On The Simple Life, I was playing a character I kind of invented. I didn't realize the show would last five seasons, so I had to keep doing it. I think people assume that's really how I am in real life. But when I'm with my friends and my family is when I feel most comfortable and myself. In the show, it really shows the real Paris."
Paris has been followed round-the-clock by cameras since October and the socialite believes the show will give a true account of her “crazy and fearless” life.
She told The Hollywood Reporter: "There are so many crazy things on the show, but one of the craziest is jumping out of a plane and skydiving.
"I'm fearless, and I live life to the fullest and feel like you only live once so you should make the most of it. Jumping out of a plane is the most incredible feeling in the world.
"We've been shooting since October-November, and it's whole access into my life. I'm shooting from the moment I wake up until I go to bed at night.
"I kind of scream at them sometimes when they come in so early."
Paris, who is dating Las Vegas nightclub boss Cy Waits, also revealed some conversations and arguments have been recorded that she "can't believe the world is going to see" -- and that some special guests will appear on the show.

Khloe Kardashian Ditches Red Hair After 9 Days
Khloe Kardashian debuted her new amber haircolor at the People's Choice Awards just over a week ago, but the reality starlet is already back to brunette. Apparently the latest dye job wasn't exactly her choice, though.
A source told Us magazine: "Khloe starts filming her show with Lamar [Odom] and E! wanted her to stay consistent all season. It was a test run. She loved it."
Khloe and her hubby are slated to star in their own reality series, which will focus on their married life -- and everyone thinks she'll also reveal she's pregnant at some point on the show. That's TBD, though. For now, we do know she'll be brunette.
Khloe tweeted yesterday after dying her hair Saturday: "I had to dye my hair back to brown. I love being a brunette, don't get me wrong, but red was so much fun! I was only red for a like a week. The red was too short-lived! I'll be a redhead again, but today I'm being a brat because I want my red hair back now."
But, she didn't always seem too happy about being a redhead, despite her recent Twitter gripe.
"I still get taken aback every time I see pics of myself with my new red hair," she wrote on her blog last week. "I literally didn't recognize myself."
