Anne Hathaway Wants To Star In A Shakespeare Play

The Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway has revealed that she is eager to star in Shakespeare stage productions.

She wants to test herself on the stage and would readily accept a role in any of the 16th century English playwright's works if she was offered. She also a huge admirer for the 19th century Norwegian playwright-and-theatre director Henrik Ibsen, reports contactmusic.com.

Asked what she wants to do next in her career, she revealed: "Most of Shakespeare and pretty much all of Ibsen.

"Most of the roles I'd love to play are in the theatre. In terms of my career, I would like to kill an alien at some point. I would like to drive a spaceship and maybe be a spy. I'd like to kick a little a*s."

Although she is one of the most talented actresses of her generation, the actress isn't good at everything and admits she is a terrible driver.

Anne, 28, is more comfortable in the saddle than she is behind the wheel of a car.

In an interview with the December issue of Gotham magazine, she said: "I like to ride horses -- it is pure joy. I can't tolerate spicy food -- I have a weak stomach. Oh, and I'm a terrible driver. Like, absolutely horrible. Like, absolutely horrible. Like, fear the road if I'm on it!"

Kirsten Dunst Dishes On Growing Up In New York

Kirsten Dunst grew up in Manhattan and  she used to ask her mother to drive past "hookies" in the Meatpacking District.

She said: "I remember when I was younger, driving around New York with my mom and going to auditions. I'd be like, 'Mom drive us by the hookies!' Hookers. I called them hookies.

"There was one street in the Meatpacking District where they all lined up. So I was definitely a part of the dangerous New York when I was younger.

"But now I feel like New York is so safe. I can walk down the street by myself. When I was younger, my mom was like, 'Hold my hand!' It was always a little sketchy. But now Times Square is like Disneyland."

She also revealed that she relies on the advice on her girlfriends more than anyone else. The actress, who previously dated Jake Gyllenhaal and Razorlight rocker Johnny Borrell, trusts the opinions of her friends so much she would even dump a guy if they thought he wasn't right for her.

She told Vanity Fair magazine: "I know to go for the good dudes. I think if your girlfriends don't like him, it's probably for a good reason. You're not picking up on something."

Taylor Swift Chooses Christian/Pop Band As Openers For Tour

Taylor Swift has announced the opening act for the North American leg of her 2011 world tour–and, while we’re willing to bet it’s not a name you’d come up with off the top of your head, you’re sure going to know more about them in a few months.

The lucky band to score the slot is South Carolina-based Needtobreathe, an outfit that actually established itself in the Christian music world before crossing over to pop success. They’ve won several Dove awards (which are the Christian equivalent of Grammy awards), including one for 2010′s group of the year. You may have heard their music on TV or at the movies–their songs have been featured on a variety of shows including the film P.S. I Love You and MTV’s hit The Hills.

If you’ve never heard of Needtobreathe, the band has a warm, guitar-oriented, southern-rock feel to its tunes; and cites U2, Wilco, Tom Petty, and Pearl Jam as influences. Frontman Bear Rinehart’s vocal style reminds me a little of Dave Matthews. Sound interesting? Here’s their latest video, for single “Hurricane,” if you’d like to check them out:

The choice of a pop band is a bit out of left field for Swift–her 2009 Fearless tour featured solidly country openers: Kellie Pickler, emerging-at-the-time quartet Gloriana, and Keith Urban (on a few select dates). Nevertheless, her choice seems to stem from simply being a big fan of the band. As she tweeted on Wednesday, “It’ll be a nightly challenge to get ready for my show instead of watching theirs.”

“It means a lot to us that Taylor handpicked us for her Speak Now tour,” Needtobreathe guitarist Bo Rinehart said in a statement. “Everyone knows she has amazing fans, and we thrive on performing live, especially in front of new audiences.”

Angelina Jolie Defends Bosnian Directorial Debut

Angelina Jolie has hit back at criticism of her directorial debut, saying most people back her portrayal of a love story between a Serbian man and Bosnian woman on the eve of the 1992-95 Balkans conflict.

Speaking in Paris ahead of next week's premiere of a very different film romantic action comedy "The Tourist" in which she stars with Johnny Depp Jolie said her intention had never been to stoke controversy with her movie set in wartime Bosnia.

Bosnian victims of sexual violence during the 1990s have written to the United Nations, for which the Oscar-winning actress is a goodwill ambassador, saying she didn't deserve the position and did not know enough about the ethnic conflict.

"There's one person who has a gripe," Jolie said.

"The absolute majority of the people, population, the cast, prime minister, president have been extremely supportive," she said, adding that 95 percent of the film's cast had lived through the war.

Jolie has described her movie, which is still untitled, as a love story between a Serbian man and a Bosnian Muslim woman on the eve of the 1992-95 war in which 100,000 people died.

The production team has cut back on filming plans in Bosnia, however, moving some scenes from Sarajevo to be shot in Budapest, after a Bosnian minister canceled the filming permit in October, citing incomplete paperwork.

The move came after the minister met with female victims of the Bosnian war who said they objected to details of the plot. Jolie, who also wrote the screenplay, said she had initially set out to just write to express her frustrations over how long the international community took to intervene in conflicts.

"It kept leaning toward Yugoslavia at the time, I wanted to learn more about it and the people, the more I read and learnt I was drawn to that part of the world," she said.

"I met artists from that part of the world and found they were extraordinary for what they'd gone through, so I wanted to give them a platform."

The "Tomb Raider" star has asked women war victims in a letter to hold judgment until they have seen the film in which she said "there are many twists in the plot that address the sensitive nature of the relationship between the main characters."

Kate Moss Says Daugther Is Like A 'Mini-Me'

Kate Moss insists her eight-year-old daughter Lila Grace Moss -- her child with publisher Jefferson Hack looks like her, dresses like her and even has the same personality she had when she was younger.

She said: "Oh, it's terrible, she's a mini-me. It's awful. She's so amazing but then sometimes I'm like, 'Oh my, it's like looking in the mirror.'

"She's like me in every way. She's very sensitive but also very grown up, just like I was. I was more when I was 10 than I probably am now and very serious as a child, probably because I went to work when I was 14."

The 36-year-old catwalk beauty insists she loves nothing more than spending time at her country estate in the Cotswolds, in England, with her daughter and her rock star boyfriend Jamie Hince.

She added to Stylist magazine: "My house is so gorgeous. It has wild roses that go all the way up to the chimney and a garden full of jasmine. And it's great for Lila. There are kids running around everywhere and they lead a sort of feral existence . I like to walk, cook, ride my bicycle to Londis (a British convenience store chain) to pick up veg."

Natalie Portman Dishes On "Black Swan" Weight Loss

Natalie Portman had to live the "monastic" life of a ballet dancer to prepare for her latest film Black Swan, and she endured plenty of physical hardship to get into the right state of mind.

She explained: "The physical discipline of it really helped for the emotional side of the character because you get the sense of the monastic lifestyle of only working out, that is a ballet dancer's life. "You don't drink, you don't go out with your friends, you don't have much food and you are constantly putting your body through extreme pain, so you get that understanding of the self-flagellation of a ballet dancer."

Natalie who stars as The Swan Queen opposite Mila Kunis as The Black Swan in the film found it hardest to stick to her ultra-strict diet.

The film's director Darren Aronofsky said: "There was really no money for the film and we had to push it back a lot of times. I actually don't mind that, but I only found out recently that Natalie would just be screaming at her manager that she had to live on carrots and almonds for another three weeks. She was the one who suffered the most from not eating."

Natalie added that as soon as the film had finished shooting she ate pasta "for breakfast, lunch and dinner" to celebrate.

Madonna Moves For Her First Gym in Mexico

Madonna the Queen of Pop has opened her first gym in Mexico City. During the opening event, the 52-year-old taught a short dance lesson to a handful of Hard Candy members at the event. The name is inspired by her eleventh studio album, which topped the charts around the world in 2008.

“It's a sexy name that gives you the opportunity to have fun and to build strength as far as the imagination will allow,” the BBC quoted her as saying. The star is expecting to open a chain of gyms and chose Mexico City for the first one because she likes the energy of the people, she said.

“Our plan is to use Mexico as a place to fine-tune our brand and then expand it to other countries,” added Madonna. Madonna’s love for exercise has been well-documented over the years and it is speculated she works out every day and follows a carefully controlled diet.

Chris Dedicik, who helped Madonna create the gym, said the star was very hands-on when designing the concept. “She chose the graphics, colours, the machines. She has weighed in on the choreography of all the classes and given them a twist to make them more dynamic, more special and to better reflect her style,” he said.

Eventually, Madonna concluded saying, “If any of you have seen my shows, you know that I don't skimp on them and the same is true for the gym. We spend what it takes to make a globally first-class gym.”

Michael Buble Ready To Marry His Argentinean Girlfriend On April 6

Michael Buble announced his engagement to Argentinian beauty Luisana Lopilato in January, and now the two have set a date: April 6, 2010. The singer even joked that he had planned on tying the knot on April 29, but was concerned the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton would overshadow his nuptials.

He told the Today show: "I was going to do it on the 29th but I figured I wouldn't get any press." The musician recently revealed that he and Luisana plan to have two weddings so both their families can be in attendance.

Michael explained: "We are doing one in Argentina and that's for her close family, and then we are doing one in Vancouver."

Meanwhile, instead of jetting off on a lavish honeymoon, the pair plan to head to Africa to undergo charity work for children's causes following the nuptials. However, the couple's romance hasn't always ran so smoothly, as Michael recently confessed his bride-to-be thought he was gay the first time they met.

He said: "I don't speak Spanish and she had no English. But the guy did so I just spoke to him. I was a bit nervous because of how beautiful she was. I later found out she was on the phone to her mother the whole time saying, 'Buble's gay. He's hitting on my friend.'"

Jennifer Aniston's Mexican-themed Thanksgiving

Jennifer Aniston hosted a Mexican-themed Thanksgiving bash for 15 friends. The 41-year-old actress is said to have flown a group of close pals out on two private jets to her lavish estate in the Mexican resort of Cabo San Lucas, where they spent the holiday on November 25 "eating, drinking and relaxing".

While "The Bounty Hunter" star indulged in plenty of food and drink during the break, she also made sure she worked out every day.

An onlooker told People magazine, "Jennifer spent the trip enjoying herself with her friends relaxing, drinking and eating."

"But she also worked out every day, including yoga sessions with Mandy Ingber. She looked amazingly fit and seemed to have a great time just relaxing and hanging out with her friends."

The star's yoga coach Mandy, as well as her manager Aleen Keshishian and chat show host Chelsea Handler, were reportedly just some of the guests flown out to Mexico for the bash, where they enjoyed a Thanksgiving meal that included chips, salsas and margaritas.

Despite being known for her strict diet and exercise regime, Jennifer recently admitted she is a big fan of Mexican cuisine. When quizzed on what she would have for her last meal, she said, "It'd be chips and guacamole, quesadillas, enchiladas and a big tostada salad and nachos!"

Dwayne Johnson Was A 'violent' Youth

Faster star and former professional wrestler Dwayne Johnson says he used to get into trouble on the Pacific island of Hawaii for fighting, but insists his “poor decisions” never led to long-term disputes.
Faster star and former professional wrestler Dwayne Johnson says he used to get into trouble on the Pacific island of Hawaii for fighting, but insists his “poor decisions” never led to long-term disputes.

He said: “I was just always into violence when I was younger. I was just a real violent kid. “But growing up in Hawaii, it’s always lots of fighting and then everybody makes up – I love you, you love me, let’s have a beer; what about a barbecue?

“I didn’t come from a broken home, I had very loving parents. I was just making poor decisions.” However, his background did not inform his later career as an action star, as he wanted to work on other styles of film.

He told Total Film magazine: “I wanted to break out of the action genre. I stopped and said, ‘I’d like to do a comedy next,’ Then I’d like to do a little drama. It was just a matter of just resetting for a moment, taking a beat.”

Jake Gyllenhaal Does Not See Himself As A 'Leading Man' in Showbiz

Jake Gyllenhaal is a pretty modest dude. He says he doesn't see himself as a big time, "leading man" kind of actor in the ranks of huge stars like Tom Cruise. The real question, however, is: Is he currently Taylor Swift's leading man? Still no hints on that front, unfortunately.

Getting back to movies, he said: “I don’t see myself like a leading man at all. That’s very result-oriented. I’ve been like that at different times in my career, but at this point I’m not. I think people look at me like that bit, but I don’t. I’ve been the lead in lots of different movies but it’s never been about that.

“It’s funny, I as at some event for Prince Of Persia and Tom Cruise and Nicolas Cage were there. And there I was standing with them thinking ‘What the hell am I doing here?’ ”

Jake also admitted he likes to tackle a wide variety of characters in his movies because of advice he was given by his father many years ago. He told Total Film magazine: “My dad always says to me that the job of any artist is to disturb the comfortable and to comfort the disturbed.”
